Can Exercise Help with Arthritis?
Studies have shown that many people with arthritis benefit from regular physical activity. Exercise may help with preserving joint mobility, maintaining range of motion, and strengthening muscles.
If you have arthritis, talk to your doctor about what kind of exercise might be best for you, including:
- Flexibility exercises to help keep joints moving and reduce stiffness
- Strength exercises to build or maintain muscle that supports joints
- Endurance exercises which may lessen joint swelling by improving the heart and arteries
