Vampire Breast Lift® FAQs
Who is a candidate for the Vampire Breast Lift®?
Anyone exhibiting these signs of the aging breast:
- Skin color becomes grayer because of less blood flow
- Shape of the breast becomes collapsed and droopy
- Sensation has decreased after breastfeeding, implants or other surgery, or aging
- Inverted nipples
- Crinkling of skin around the cleavage area
Good candidates for this procedure are women who are not looking to dramatically change the size of their breasts. This procedure helps give your breasts a more youthful appearance. Many women who choose to have the Vampire Breast Lift® are also ideal candidates for other Vampire Procedures like the O-Shot®, Vampire Facelift®, Vampire Wing Lift® or Vampire Facial®.
What makes the Vampire Breast Lift® unique?
Dr. Melfi will evaluate the breasts and where the shape can be enhanced to create a younger, more attractive appearance. Blood is drawn from your own body, just like a normal blood draw. The platelets are separated from the red blood cells via a centrifuge. See “What is PRP.”
The platelets are then activated by combining them with calcium chloride, which causes the platelets to release growth factors. A topical anesthetic cream is applied to the midline of the breasts and nipples. A dermal filler is injected into the areas determined by Dr. Melfi to improve shape and lift. Then, using a small gauge needle, the activated PRP solution is injected into specific areas of the breast that have been numbed by a topical anesthetic. The procedure is very tolerable with minimal discomfort and little downtime. Once the blood is drawn and separated, the actual procedure takes about 15-20 minutes in our office. There is no downtime and no “surgery.” Patients are immediately able to return to regular life activities.
